The Ntombi Project joins forces with Meals on Wheels

Following the violence that engulfed South Africa in July, Meals on Wheels is giving back to those communities who have suffered the most.

KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng were the provinces heavily affected by looting and riots, leaving members of the public without basic necessities. To support these communities, Meals on Wheels has graciously donated 4 790 Ntombi sanitary towels to the women and young ladies who are without in these provinces.

Furthermore, Meals on Wheels celebrated National Women’s Day by putting together 600 parcels filled with basic necessities, including Ntombi sanitary towels, soap, deodorant and mouth hygiene products that will be donated to high school students located in farming towns in the Xhariep District in the Free State.

It has been a great privilege for The Ntombi Project to work with an initiative such as Meals on Wheels. What started as a small food delivery service in East London in 1964 has flourished into an enormous miracle of mercy. To date, Meals on Wheels has more than 700 service points countrywide that provide over 31 million meals a year.

With a common goal of taking care of underprivileged communities in South Africa, The Ntombi Project looks forward to working with Meals on Wheels in the future.
